En el último show de NXT 2.0, Bron Breakker derrotó a Duke Hudson y posteriormente apareció Cameron Grimes para retarlo a una lucha por su título en The Great American Bash.
El campeón no le tuvo miedo y aceptó rápidamente la propuesta.
Esta será la quinta defensa titular de Breakker desde que se hiciera con el Campeonato de NXT en el show de Monday Night RAW posterior a WrestleMania 38.
